Every summer Teds holds a 6 week summer camp program that runs Monday-Friday from 8am to 4pm. Each week has a designated theme ranging from Science, Sports, Animals, Art, etc. Last year Teds has added even more trips then before (The Turtle Back Zoo, Thomas Edison Museum, Aquarium, Fire Me Up, and walks to Dairy Queen just to name a few). Also we have implemented many water play days planned by our very own gym teacher too keep us cool on those hot days! Of course we can't forget about what we have learned throughout the school year. So, everyday we do a little review to keep our minds fresh for the upcoming school year. Teds is dedicated to making each summer special and create memories to last forever. Seeing Eye Dog
On July 18th we had a visit from the Seeing Eye Dog. This non-profit organization spoke to our campers about the importance of these animals in helping those with blindness. Ms. Chloe helped demonstrate how a blind person gets around with a walking stick and how they benefit from a seeing eye dog. Mazy showed us how calm and well trained a seeing eye dog is. Our campers asked many questions and enjoyed petting Mazy. Click the link for some pictures!
Turtle Back Zoo
On July 10th our campers hopped on the bus and adventured at the Turtle Back Zoo where they were greeted with many animals. They were super excited to feed the farm animals, cool off with the penguins and stretch their necks to see the giraffes. Other animals they saw were snow leopards, bird exhibit and oddly a golden retriever in his own fenced area. Click on the link below for some great pictures!!
Therapy Horse
On July 26th TEDS was visited by Michaelangelo, a Therapy Horse.
Our campers learned how these Therapy Horses live, are trained, and the work they do for those in need of Therapy. Michaelangelo had a bit of an attitude and the kids thought it was funny. The kids also loved brushing and petting their new friend!
Fire Me Up!!
For this trip, our campers became little artists! Each child got to choose between a bowl or a mug along with up to 6 different paint colors. Then the imaginations went wild. After over an hour of painting, they now have their own unique item that will be fired up and returned in a week for them to enjoy for a lifetime.
Aquarium
Teds last trip was to the SeaLife Aquarium where the campers saw many marine life animals, Turtles, sharks, stingrays, jellyfish, tiger fish, rainbow fish, pythons, etc. The kids had a blast! After their excursion they sat with a guide who taught them about all the sea life and we are proud to say the Teds campers new the answers to all the questions asked!
Water Play
Some days are just way to hot. TEDS offers water play whether it be in the sprinkler or at the water table our Gym teacher gets them cooled off!!
2025 Summer Events
Dinosours visit TEDS!
On July 18th TEDS had a visit from some very old guests. From T-Rex to
Stegasouruses, the kids were able to interact with and learn about what life was like many years ago. Enjoy some pictures of the excitement by clicking the link below!
Seeing Eye Dog
On July 22nd TEDS was visited by the Seeing Eye Dog. They are a non-profit organization who trains dogs to work with the blind. The students loved learning about how they are trained to help. They especially loved meeting Mooka!
Farm Animals
July 23rd our campers met with some farm animals. Not only did they get to pet them but they enjoyed feeding them as well. There were goats, sheep, a alpacha named Nolan, a cow and a donkey named Timmy. One of the goats, Chub, was very sad to see the children leave because he loved all of their attention. Therapy Horse
The students enjoyed a visit from Hopes Promise who brought us a Therapy Horse named Ravi, a gentle soul. The kids enjoyed, leading, brushing and petting Ravi all while learning how the horses visit patients and elderly for a little therapy.
Imagine That
Imagine being a Fireman or a Shop Emploee or even a Pirate for a day. Well that's what the kids at TEDS did on their trip to Imagine That. Check out the link below to see pictures of our campers (and counsilors) letting their imaginations run wild!
